So I did something a little out of my comfort zone last week and went to a concert alone. And it ended up being awesome! No worrying about if everyone is having fun or crazy dancing with girlfriends. I was able to maneuver my way close to the stage and just enjoyed the music.
And the music was SO good. Tove Lo’s voice is even better live. Her music is fun and relate-able with simple lyrics. She played just about every song she had and it was a blast!
She was actually at Firefly back in June and I was super bummed about not getting to see her because Snoop was performing at the same time and I mean, when would I ever go see Snoop outside of Firefly?
So I sadly skipped seeing Tove Lo in the hopes that she would be coming to DC in the nest year. Welp, the week after Firefly she released a single and announced a tour that would hit up DC at the 9:30 Club. Needless to say, I immediately bought tickets.
Now, the 9:30 Club is a small 18+ venue for live music that I hadn’t been too since an ex took me to see Angels & Airwaves back in 2008. Yea, it had been awhile. I thought I would feel super old/get super annoyed by all the teeny boppers.
Neither of which happened. There was a wide range of ages there and everyone just enjoyed themselves.
I am so happy that I went out of my comfort zone. I proved to myself that I can still have fun on my own and I got to see Tove Lo! There are times to be around people but it also good to be comfortable in your own company. If there is something that you want badly enough, then you can get there/do it on your own.
